The Effect of GeoGebra on Achievement of Preservice Mathematics Teachers About Concepts of Limit and Continuity

Abstract

–In this research, it is aimed to examine the effect of using GeoGebra, dynamic mathematics software, for teaching the limit and continuity concepts on pre-service mathematics teachers’ achievement about these concepts. According to this aim, an experimental designed research is used and 40 second grade pre-service elementary mathematics teachers from a state university are chosen as sampling. These students are divided into 2 equal groups with respect to their scores on a test about limit and continuity concepts prepared by the researcher. In this research, this test is also used as pre and post-test. After 6 hours of lecture in both groups, the post-test of the research is applied to the participants. The gathered quantitative data is analyzed by appropriate parametric statistical tests. As a result, the findings of the research show that the post-test scores of the participants in the experimental group is higher than the control group
