Abstract
This study is concerned with the natural flora of the south region of Çatalca (İstanbul). Research conducted over a period of three years determined that there are 444 taxa belonging to 74 families and 265 genera. The number of endemic species found in the area is 7, which corresponds to 1.57 % of the total number of taxa. As a result of this search, the Fritillaria stribirnyi was found for the first time as new record for the A2(E) square after A1(E). Of the 444 taxa of flora 93 (20.9 %) are Mediterranean, 86 (19.4 %) are Euro-Siberian and 2 (0.5 %) are Irano-Turanian elements. The remaining 263 taxa (59.2 %) could either be found in more than one area, or their phytogeographic area is unknown.
