Abstract
In this study forty-five cases of supratentorial diffuse infiltrative astrocytoma which were diagnosed and followed up in Hacettepe University.Faculty of Medicine between the years of 1984-1995, are reviewed to observe the prognostic significance of age and sex of the patients, the localization and grade of the tumors and the duration of the symptoms.After having received chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the morphological changes within the tumor and the nonneoplastic brain parenchyma is observed
Özet
Çalışmamızda 1984-1995 yılları arasında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nde tanı alan ve takip edilen 45 supratentorial yerleşimli diffüz infiltratif astrositom olgusunda yaş, cinsiyet grade, lokalizasyon, semptomların süresi ve niteliği gibi parametrelerin hayatta kalmaya olan etkileri araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca radyoterapi (RT) ve kemoterapi (KT) verilen ve takip edilen vakaların 2. operasyon materyallerinde tümör ve çevre beyin dokusunun gösterdiği morfolojik değişiklikler incelenmiştir.
