Congenital scaphoid megalourethra

Abstract

Congenital megalourethra is a rare congenital malformation of penil urethra. It is defined as diffuse dilatation of the anterior urethra due to absence of development of the erectile tissue of the penis. We report a rare case of scaphoid megalourethra without any associated anomaly. A 13-year-old male was admitted to our department with complaints of penile swelling during micturition and dysuria since birth. On clinical examination there was a small swelling on the ventral surface that balooned markedly during micturition. Retrograde cystourethrogram showed scaphoid dilatation of the anterior urethra. The patient underwent a reduction urethroplasty. The patient did well postoperatively and voided with a normal stream without any abnormality of the penile shaft.

Doğumsal dev üretra, penil üretranın nadir görülen bir bozukluğudur. Penisin erektil dokusunun gelişmemesine bağlı ön üretranın yaygın genişlemesi olarak tanımlanır. Beraberinde ek anomali bulunmayan nadir bir dev üretra olgusu sunuyoruz. Doğduğundan beri idrar yaparken peniste şişme ve dizüri yakınması olan 13 yaşında bir erkek çocuk kliniğimize başvurdu. Muayenede penisin alt yüzünde, işeme sırasında belirgin balonlaşma gösteren bir şişlik saptandı. Retrograd sistoüretrogramda ön üretrada kayıksı genişleme görüldü. Hastaya daraltıcı üretroplasti ameliyatı yapıldı. Ameliyat sonrası dönemi sorunsuz olan hastanın peniste herhangi bir anormallik olmadan normal akımla idrar yaptığı gözlendi.
