Investigation of the changes of alphafeto protein, C-peptide levels and biochemical parameters in pregnants and cord blood

Abstract

Many important biochemical and haematological changes occur during pregnancy. In this study, whole blood counts, some biochemical parameters, Alpha fetoprotein and C- peptide levels of the maternal women and cord bloods were evaluated. Significant differences between pregnants and control group in the levels of leukocyte (p<0.01), erythrocyte (p<0.05), thrombocytes (p< 0.01) were found. The hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin levels of cord blood were found significantly higher than those of pregnant women. The ratio of blood urea nitrogen levels lower than control group value were decreased significantly but the rate of Uric level higher than normal maternal value were increased significantly. The alpha fetoprotein levels of maternal blood were found significantly higher than control group. The C-peptide levels of maternal blood were found significantly higher than cord blood.

Özet

Gebelik süresince pekçok biyokimyasal ve hematolojik değişiklikler meydana gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada, gebeler ve kord kanında tam kan sayımları, bazı biyokimyasal parametreler, alfa fetoprotein ve C- peptit düzeyleri incelenmiş ve kontrol grubu karşılaştırılmıştır..Lökosit (p<0.01), eritrosit (p<0.05), trombosit (p< 0.01) düzeylerinde gebeler ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olduğu saptanmıştır. Hemoglobin, hematokrit, ortalama eritrosit hacmi, ortalama eritrosit hemoglobini seviyelerinde, kord kanında gebelere oranla anlamlı bir yüksekliğin bulunduğu saptanmıştır. Gebelerde kontrol grubuna göre kan üre azotu değerlerinde anlamlı bir azalış, fakat ürik asit değerlerinde anlamlı bir artış olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Alfa fetoprotein seviyeleri incelendiğinde gebelerde kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı bir yüksekliğin olduğu saptanmıştır. C-peptit seviyelerinin ise gebelerde kord kanından anlamlı bir yüksekliğe sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
