From the student’s point of view, who are at secondary schools in Trabzon, the latest (2005) geography education programme and constructivism theory relationship

Trabzon merkez ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin görüşleri doğrultusunda yeni (2005) coğrafya öğretim programı ve yapılandırmacı kuram ilişkisi

Abstract

The 2005 Geography educational programme has been started to apply to put into practice for the first time in all degrees of secondary schools during the 2008–2009 academic year. So with the study which will be done only in this academic year, we will be able to find out the students’ cooprehensive ideas about this new programme. With this study it has been tried to be shown either the students’ point of view to the new programme or the relationship between the new programme and the constructivism education theory. At the end of the searches we can say that the students have found the new programme positive in most aspects. But in teaching geography there are still some traditional strict methods; for example new methods and different equipment have not stil been used sufficently.

Özet

2005 yılı coğrafya öğretim programı ilk defa 2008–2009 eğitim-öğretim yılında ortaöğretimin tüm sınıflarında uygulanmaya başlanmıştır. Bu nedenle ancak bu öğretim yılında yapılacak bir çalışma ile lise öğrencilerinin yeni program hakkındaki kapsamlı düşünceleri saptanmış olabilecektir. Bu çalışmayla hem öğrencilerin yeni programa bakış açısını hem de yeni programın yapılandırmacı eğitim kuramıyla ilişkisi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuçta öğrencilerin yeni programı birçok açıdan pozitif algıladıkları tespit edilmiştir. Ancak coğrafya öğretiminde gelenekçi eğitim anlayışının katı izlerine de rastlanılmıştır. Farklı yöntemlerin ve çeşitli araçgereçlerin yeterince kullanılmayışı buna örnek teşkil etmektedir.
