INVESTIGATION OF REVENUE TRANSACTION AS PART OF TAS/TFRS IN TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANIES

TELEKOMÜNİKASYON ŞİRKETLERİNDE HASILAT İŞLEMLERİNİN TMS/TFRS KAPSAMINDA İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Telecommunication is one of the fastest developing and most important sectors in the world. The business organizations, which carry out business activities in this sector, take on important duties such as communication, intercommunication and instant access to information which are the fundamental needs of the people in the information society. The range of the services provided by the telecommunication companies paves the way for the need for detailed definition and evaluation of the revenue factors. The objective of the study is to explain the revenue factors in the telecommunication sectors by addressing in the framework of the Turkish Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards in line with the specified aim. "Activation/connection fee and 4 Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi, İİBF, İşletme Bölümü* 5 Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi, İİBF, İşletme Bölümü** equipments", "guarantees" and "customer loyalty program (bonus)" which are important for the sector for revenue, are presented with sample applications.

Özet

Telekomünikasyon, dünya genelinde çok hızlı gelişen önemli sektörlerden biridir. Bu sektörde faaliyette bulunan işletmeler günümüz bilgi toplumu insanlarının; iletişim, haberleşme ve istenen anda bilgiye ulaşabilme gibi temel ihtiyaçlarını karşılayarak büyük görevler üstlenirler. Telekomünikasyon şirketleri tarafından verilen hizmetlerin çeşitliliği hasılat unsurlarının ayrıntılı bir şekilde tanımlanması ve değerlendirilmesi ihtiyacını doğurmuştur. Belirtilen ihtiyaca yönelik olarak çalışmada; telekomünikasyon sektöründeki hasılat unsurlarının Türkiye Muhasebe ve Finansal Raporlama Standartları çerçevesinde ele alınarak açıklanması amaçlanmıştır. Sektörde hasılat açısından özellik arz eden; "aktivasyon/bağlantı ücretleri ve ekipmanlar", "garantiler" ve "müşteri sadakat programı (hediye puanlar)" gibi başlıklar örnek uygulamalar eşliğinde sunulmuştur.
