Entrepreneurship as an Instrument of Economic Development and an Evaluation on Turkey

İktisadi Kalkınma Aracı Olarak Girişimcilik ve Türkiye Üzerine Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

The entrepreneur decides how to use the production factors and makes an innovation so that (s)he has a very important role in the economy. In this study, entrepreneurship is considered as an instrument of economic development; and overall performance of entrepreneurial activities, as well as the changing factors that affect entrepreneurship in Turkey is analyzed. This study emphasizes that, the population of the country is young, and dynamic; yet Turkey can not benefit from this potential sufficiently. Policy recommendations that aim to increase the share of entrepreneurship in the economy are also presented in the study.

Özet

Girişimci, üretim faktörlerinin nasıl kullanılması gerektiğine karar vererek bir yenilik ortaya çıkardığı için ekonomide çok önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmada girişimcilik iktisadi kalkınmanın bir aracı olarak ele alınmış ve özellikle girişimciliği etkileyen faktörlerin Türkiye'deki genel durum ve değişmeleri incelenmiştir. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda Türkiye'de genç ve dinamik nüfus potansiyelinden gerektiği kadar yararlanılamadığı vurgulanarak, ekonomide girişimciliğin payını arttırmak amacıyla görüş ve politika önerilerine yer verilmiştir.
