Serum lipoprotein (a) levels in preeclamptic patients

Abstract

Of this study is To compare serum Lipoprotein (a) [Lp (a)] levels of normal pregnancies with preeclamptic patients. The values of total cholesterol (TC), trigliserid (TG), high density lipoprotein-C (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein-C (LDL-C) by enzymatic method; apolipoprotein (apo) AI and B by iınmunonefelometric method and Lp (a) by ELISA were determined in sera of 30 preeclamptic patients and 30 normal pregnancies of 3rd trimester after 12 hour fasting period. There was no significant difference between the mean serum Lp (a) values of preeclamptic patients (21.4±20.3 mg/dL) and normal pregnancies (24.7±19.2 mg/dL), (p>0.05). The study presented high TCandTG, low HDL-C and apo Al values in preeclamptic patients when compared to normal pregnancies (p<0.01-0.05), while LDL-C and apo B values showed no difference (p>0.05). As a Serum Lp (a) value does not show any difference in preeclamptic patients when compared to normal pregnancies.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı serum lipoprotein (a) [Lp (a)] düzeylerini normal ve preeklamptik gebelerde karşılaştırmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Üçüncü trimesterde olan 30 preeklamptik ve 30 sağlıklı gebe kadında 12 saatlik açlık dönemini takiben alınan kan örneklerinde enzimatik yöntemle total kolesterol (TK), trigliserid (TG), yüksek dansiteli lipoprotein-kolesterolu (HDL-K) ve düşük dansiteli lipoprotein-kolesterolu (LDL-K); immünonefelometrik yöntemle Apolipoprotein (apo) Al ve B; ve ELISA yöntemiyle Lp (a) düzeyi belirlendi. Serum Lp (a) düzeyleri ortalama değeri preeklamptik gebelerde 21.4±20.3 mg/dL; normal gebelerde 24.7±19.2 mg/dL bulundu; aradaki fark anlamsızdı (p>0.05). Preeklamptik gebelerde, normal gebelere göre TK ve TG yüksek; HDL-K ve apo Al düzeyleri düşük gözlenirken (p 0.05). Sonuç olarak Serum Lp (a) düzeyleri preeklamptik gebelerde normal gebelerden farklı değildir.
