Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Diastasis recti abdominis is the seperation of rectus abdominus muscle from linea alba and is one of the most common complications of pregnancy. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence and localisation of diastasis recti abdominis in pregnancy. MATERİAL AND METHODS: A total of 218 pregnant women were participated in this study. The presence and localisation of diastasis recti abdominis of the cases were investigated. RESULTS: No diastasis was found in first trimester subjects. 31 out of 104 second trimester women (29.80%) and 89 out of 114 third trimester women (78%) had separations in various degrees. CONCLUSIONS: It was found that majority of the diastasis recti were at the umblicus level (44.17%), preceded by the seperations both umblicus and above the umblicus level which is 30%. The percentage of the total three-level seperations were 25%.

Özet

AMAÇ: Diastasis recti, rectus abdominus kasının orta hattan, linea alba'dan ayrılmasıdır ve gebelikte sık görülen komplikasyonlardan biridir. Bu çalışma, gebelikte diastasis recti abdominis insidansını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM:Çalışmaya toplam 218 kadın dahil edilmiştir. Olguların diastasis varlığı ve lokalizasyonu incelenmiştir. BULGULAR: Gebeliğin I. trimester'ındaki olguların hiçbirinde diastasis recti bulunmazken, II. trimester'daki 104 kadının 31'inde (%29.80) ve III. trimester'daki 114 kadının 89'unda (%78) çeşitli derecelerde ayrılma saptanmıştır. SONUÇ: Tüm gebelerde diastasis recti'nin en sık görüldüğü bölgenin umblikus seviyesi olduğu (%44.17), bunu umblikus ile birlikte umblikus üstündeki ayrılmalar (%30) ve tüm seviyelerdeki total ayrılmaların izlediği (%25) belirlenmiştir.
