The usage of contraceptive methods of women's and their husbands' according to their educational status

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to determine using of contraceptive methods of women's and their husbands' according to their educational status provided by (15-49 age group women) follow up forms of the primary health care services and mother- child health and family planning center areas which are selected from Ankara. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The datas are obtained from (15-49 age group women) follow up forms of the primary health care services and mother- child health and family planning center areas in Ankara in 2000. Chi-square test is used for statistical analyzes. RESULTS: For non-literated women, the use of modern contraceptive methods increases of husbands' educational level in all of the primary health care services and mother- child health and family planning center areas. For literated women, any significant difference isn't determined using of contraceptive methods according to their husbands' educational statement. CONCLUSION: To increase the use of contraceptive methods, it is necessary to raise the level of women's and their husbands' educational status.
Özet
AMAÇ: Ankara ilinden seçilen sağlık ocağı ve AÇSAP bölgelerindeki 15- 49 yaş kadın izlem formlarından elde edilen bilgiler ile kadınların ve eşlerinin öğrenim durumlarına göre aile planlaması yöntemlerini kullanma durumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Veriler, Ankara iline bağlı sağlık ocağı bölgelerindeki 2000 yılına ait 15-49 yaş kadın izlem formlarından elde edilmiştir. İstatistiksel analizlerde ki- kare önemlilik testi kullanılmıştır. BULGULAR: Bütün sağlık ocaklarında eğitimi olmayan kadınlar için eşinin eğitim düzeyi arttıkça modern aile planlaması yöntemlerinin kullanımının arttığı saptanmıştır. Kadın okur-yazar olduktan sonra ise eşinin eğitim düzeyine göre aile planlaması yöntemi kullanımı yönünden belirgin bir farklılık olmamaktadır. SONUÇ: Yöntem kullanımını arttırmak için hem kadının hem de eşinin eğitim durumunun yükseltilmesi gerekmektedir.
