Abstract
Two patients with steroid dependent or refractory immun trombocytopenic purpura were treated with danazol plus ascorbic acid in an attempt to improve their platelet counts. Both children exhibited an excellent initial response to the drug and only one achieving, a complete, unmaintained remission. No significant adverse effect of danazol or ascorbic acid were noted. Danazol and ascorbic acid seems to be effective in the treatment of children with immun trombocytopenic purpura and would warrant additional studies to determine its role in the management of this common pediatric ailment.
