Risk factors for mortality rates of prematures

Abstract

In this study 1411 premature infants who were hospitalized at the Neonatology Department of Dr. Behçet Uz Children ' s Hospital were evaluated retrospectively to investigate the mortality risk factors. For this purpose the correlations between the mortality rates and each one of the following parameters: birth weights, gestational ages, sexes, place of delivery, prenatal risk factors, birth weights for gestational ages, asphyxia, RDS, intracranial hemorrhage, sepsis, duration of hospital ization were assessed statistically.A direct correlation between the low birth weight, gestational age, prenatal factors, asphyxia, RDS, intracranial hemorrhage, place of delivery, sepsis and the mortality rates was found.

Özet

Üç yıllık bir dönemde Dr. Behçet Uz Çocuk Hastanesi Prematüre Servisine yatırdan 1411 olgu retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi. Prematüre morlalitesinde risk faktörlerini saptamak amacıyla doğum ağırlığı, gestasyon yaşı, gestasyon yaşına göre doğum ağırlığının durumu, cinsiyet, doğum yeri, prenatal risk faktörlerinin varlığı, hastanede kalış süresi, asfıksi, intrakranial kanama, RDSve sepsis ile mortalité oranları istatistiksel olarak karşılaştırıldı.Doğum ağırlığı, gestasyon yaşı, doğum yeri, prenatal faktörlerin varlığı, RDS, intrakranial hemoraji, asfıksi ve sepsis ile ölüm oranları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu saptandı.
