Abstract
AIM: In this study 129 patients (67 male, 62 female mean age 44±6.8) with esophagitis, incidence of hiatal hernia, peptic ulcer and gastroduodenitis and their influence with severity of esophagitis were invastigated. MA TERIAL AND METHODS: Endoscopy were performed in patients refered to our hospital with symptoms of various. If to require was biopsy. RESULTS: We found the lesions acompany with eosophagitis were gasroduodenitis in 53 patients (41.1%), hiatal hernia in 21 patients (16.3%) and peptic ulcer in 16 patients (12.4%). There was no difference between the groups in severity of eosophagitis (p>0.05). CONCLUSION: The high incidence of gastroduodenitis was thought the duodenogastric reflux should play a major role in etiopathogenesis of eosophagitis. However to clarify this issue more dynamic studies is needed.
