To analyze pregnancy outcomes after hysteroscopic resection of uterine septum

Abstract
Objective: To asses the safety and efficacy of hysteroscopic resection of the uterine septum. Material and Methods: This article is a retrospective review of cases 1996-2002. A septate uterus was diagnosed in a total 38 patients and all were by treated by hysteroscopic resection. We evaluated 30 patients of them. Results: The rate of preoperative pregnancy loss was 93.4% and there was no uncomplicated delivery. After hysteroscopic septum resection we reported the rate of pregnancy loss was 34.6% and uncomplicated delivery rate was 61.5%. Conclusion: Hysteroscopic treatment of uterine septa is a safe, simple and effective procedure. Hysteroscopic resection of intrauterine septum is the treatment of choice for patients suffering from infertility, reccurrent pregnancy wastage.

Amaç: Uterin septumun histeroskopik rezeksiyonunun etkinliği ve güvenirliliğini saptamak Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmada 1996-2002 yılları arasında uterin septum nedeniyle histeroskopik septum rezeksiyonu yapılan 38 olgudan 30'u değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Preoperatif gebelik kayıp oranı %93.4 ve canlı term doğum yok iken postoperatif dönemde gebelik kaybı %34.6 ve canlı term doğum oranı %61.5 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Uterin septumun histeroskopi ile tedavisi basit etkili ve güvenilir bir yöntemdir.
