Hasan Mazhar Paşa: His Last Lesson was his Funeral Against the Occupying Forces

Abstract
HasanMazhar Pasha is one of the founders of modern anatomy in Turkey. After studying his specialty in Paris, he came back to homeland and worked for almost 40 years in this area, gave lectures and published books. He died in 1920. After he passed away, faculty students wanted to make funeral for him at the faculty building. English occupying forces tried to prevent the ceremony. However with the medical school standing firm, English soldiers had to draw back. His coffin was carried by the students from the medical school to Karacaahmet cemetery and he was buried there.
