Comparison of growth characteristics of Morkaraman and Tuj lambs in Kars Region

Abstract
In this study, the growth characteristics of Morkaraman and Tushin lambs were investigated. The least-squares means of morkaraman and Tushin lambs traits such as birth weight, 30, 45 , 60, 75 and 90th days weights were 3.76910.185, 3.333+0.218; 6.32610.503, 6.36610.615; 8.72610.598, 8.02410.730; 11.26610.740, 10.66311.005; 12.85310.758, 12.17510.926 and 15.006+0.825, 14.51111.008 kg respectively. The effect of breed on the birth weight was highly significant (P<0.01) while sex and the age of dam were insignificant. Also, the linear effect of the birth weight on 30th, 45th and 60th days weights were highly significant (P<0.01) while sex, breed, the age of dam and the linear effects of ewe's weight on the same property were not significant. The influence of the linear effect of the birth weight on 75th days weight was highly significant (F<0.01) as well as the sex was significant (P<0.05). The sex effect on 90th days weight was highly significant (P<0.01).as well as the linear effect of the birth weight was significant (P<0.05). The effect .of genotype throughout the growth period was insignificant.

Bu çalışmada Morkaraman ve Tuj kuzularının 90 günlük büyüme özellikleri incelenmiştir. Morkaraman ve Tuj kuzularında doğum, 30, 45, 60,'75, ve 90. gün ağırlıklarına ait en küçük kareler ortalamaları sırasıyla 3.769±0.185, 3.333+0.218; 6.326+0.503, 6.36610.615; 8.726±0.598, 8.024±0.730; 11.266±0.740, 10.66311.005; 12.85310.758, 12.17510.926 ve 15.006+0.825, 14.51111.008 kg olarak belirlenmiştir. Doğum ağırlığına ırkın etkisi çok önemli (P<0.01); cinsiyet, ana yaşı ve ananın canlı ağırlığının linear etkisi ise önemsiz bulunmuştur. 30, 45 ve 60. gün ağırlıklarına doğum ağırlığının linear etkisi çok önemli (P<0.01); ırk, ana yaşı ve ananın canlı ağırlığının linear etkisi ise önemsiz bulunmuştur. 75. gün ağırlığına doğum ağırlığının linear etkisi çok önemli (P<0.01), cinsiyetin etkisi önemli (P<0.05), 90.,gün ağırlığına ise cinsiyet çok önemli (P<0.01), doğum ağırlığının linear etkisinin önemli (P<0.05) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Büyüme periyotlarına ırkın etkisinir. önemsiz olduğu saptanmıştır.
