(An Implementation to Identify Leadership Behaviors of Hospitality Businesses Managers)

Konaklama İşletmeleri Yöneticilerinin Liderlik Davranışlarının Belirlenmesine Yönelik Bir Uygulama

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to reveal whether the managers are human oriented or work oriented in reaching the goals and targets of organization in terms of the employees in hospitality businesses and which leadership behaviors they have, by using the scale of Blake and Mouton among the behavioral leadership theories. To this end, the scale developed by Blake and Mouton within the framework of behavioral leadership theory was applied to 259 managers selected by the basic random sampling method among the managers employed in the first class tourist facilities in Fethiye county of Muğla city. In evaluating the data obtained from the survey, T test and ANOVA test were used and interpreted. In the results, it was found that the leadership styles of managers differ according to gender, age, education, management level and department variables.

Özet

Bu çalışmada davranışsal liderlik teorileri içerisinde bulunan Blake ve Mouton'un ölçeği kullanılarak konaklama işletmelerinde çalışanlar açısından örgütün amaç ve hedeflerine ulaşmada yöneticilerin insan odaklı ya da iş odaklı olup olmadığı ve hangi liderlik davranışı sergilediğini ortaya koymak hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla Muğla ili, Fethiye ilçesinde bulunan birinci sınıf turistik tesislerde çalışan yöneticiler arasından basit tesadüfi örneklem yöntemi ile belirlenen 259 yöneticiye davranışsal liderlik teorisi çerçevesinde Blake ve Mouton tarafından geliştirilen ölçek uygulanmıştır. Anketten elde dilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde T testi ve Anova testi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, yöneticilerin liderlik tarzlarının cinsiyet, yaş, eğitim, yönetim düzeyi ve departman değişkenlerine göre farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir
