The Impact of the New Entrepreneur Support of SME on Business Activity Duration

Abstract
In this study, the impact of the New Entrepreneur Support provided by SME to entrepreneurs who want to start their own business on business activity duration was tried to be analyzed. Within the scope of the study, quantitative information about 444 entrepreneurs who had established their own business receiving a New Entrepreneur Support from the SME Karabuk Directorate were obtained and data on operating status were acquired by cross-examining these information with the records of the Turkish Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodities (TOBB), Turkish Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) and Revenue Administration (IOP). The data were subjected to various analyses and as a result of the study, it was determined that approximately 40% of the businesses established across Turkey in the year 2011 to 2018 and approximately 49% of the businesses established in Karabuk without receiving any support were unable to resume their activities. On the other hand, it was seen that the rate of closure in businesses established in Karabuk by receiving support was nearly 15% and the rate of closure was higher in female entrepreneurs.
Özet
Bu çalışmada KOSGEB tarafından kendi işini kurmak isteyen girişimcilere sağlanan Yeni Girişimci Desteğinin işletme faaliyet süresine olan etkisi çözümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında KOSGEB Karabük Müdürlüğünden Yeni Girişimci Desteği alarak kendi işini kurmuş 444 adet girişimciye ilişkin nicel bilgiler alınmış, bu bilgiler Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği (TOBB), Türkiye Esnaf ve Sanatkârlar Konfederasyonu (TESK), Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı (GİB) kayıtları ile çapraz sorgulanarak işletme durumuna ilişkin veriler elde edilmiştir. Bu veriler çeşitli analizlere tabi tutulmuş ve araştırma neticesinde, Türkiye genelinde 2011-2018 yıllarında kurulan işletmelerin yaklaşık %40’ının, Karabük’te destek almadan kurulan işletmelerin yaklaşık %49’unun faaliyetini devam ettiremediği tespit edilmiştir. Karabük’te destek alarak kurulan işletmelerde ise kapanma oranının yaklaşık %15 olduğu ve bayan girişimcilerde kapanma oranının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür.
