Review of the Books Written About Child Education Between 1876-1923

Abstract
The Constitutional Periods are important because the developments in child education were discussed, educational institutions such as “Vâlide Sınıfı, Ana Mektebi” were built and an important literature on this issue also began to develop. It is remarkable that the authors of the period make sence of the concept of “Pedagogy” as “Terbiye-i Etfâl” and they tried to show the importance of this education in their works. This study aimed to review analytically the works related to child education written during this period with the document review method. In the study, it was understood that different developmental areas of the child were taken into consideration, education of the educator was considered important and child health and protection was also evaluated within the scope of this education. It can say the works written for children supported the interest and curiosity of the child, but they generally had instructive characteristics.
Özet
Osmanlı Devleti’nin Meşrutiyet Dönemleri (1876-1923), çocuk eğitimi ile ilgili gelişmelerin tartışıldığı, "Vâlide Sınıfı, Ana Mektebi” gibi eğitim kurumlarının ortaya çıktığı, ayrıca bu konuda önemli bir literatürün gelişmeye başladığı dönemdir. Dönemin yazarlarının kitap veya makalelerinde “Pedagoji” kavramını “Terbiye-i Etfâl (Çocuk Eğitimi)” şeklinde anlamlandırdıkları ve bu eğitimin önemini ortaya koymaya çalıştıkları dikkat çekmektedir. Binaenaleyh bu çalışmada Meşrutiyet dönemlerindeki çocuk eğitimiyle ilgili eserlerin, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi çerçevesinde analitik bir incelemesinin yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışma, eserlerin yazıldığı dönemdeki eğitim anlayışı, öğretmen ve öğrenci anlayışı; eğitim yaklaşımları hakkında değerlendirme yapılabilmesine imkân sağlaması bakımından önemlidir.
