Village and City Conflict in Kazakh Storyteller Marhabat Baygut's ‘Geyik Otu’

Abstract
The scene of the realization of human life, consisting of events and situations, are spaces. In this sense, spaces can acquire a new form in every period in line with the needs and understanding of human life. This renewal does not always occur in favor of man. Sometimes spaces can be harmed by both body and soul as they are arranged without human values. The main thing is to follow the natural course of dynamics in the renovation of spaces. Marhabat Baygut, one of the important names of Kazakh storytelling, deals with ‘village’ and ‘city’ places in terms of his life scene in his story called Geyikotu. The story focuses on the effects of the village on human nature, which continues to develop under the influence of natural dynamics, and on the effects of city on human nature established through artificial needs and various human interventions. Although the author does not intervene directly in the flow of the work, he tries to make people think with details.
Özet
İnsanın olaylar ve durumlardan oluşan hayatının gerçekleşme sahnesi mekânlardır. Mekânlar bu anlamda insan hayatının ihtiyaç ve anlayışı doğrultusunda her dönem yeni bir biçim kazanabilir. Bu yenilenme her zaman insanın lehine gerçekleşmez. Kimi zaman mekânlar insana has değerlerden yoksun bir şekilde düzenlendiği için ona hem beden hem ruh yönüyle zarar verebilir. Esas olan ise mekânların yenilenmesinde dinamiğin doğal seyrini takip etmesidir. Kazak hikâyeciliğinin önemli isimlerinden Marhabat Baygut ‘Geyikotu’ isimli hikâyesinde bir hayat sahnesi olması bakımından ‘köy’ ve ‘şehir’ mekânlarını ele alır. Hikâyede doğal dinamiklerin etkisinde gelişimini sürdüren köyün insan tabiatına etkisi ile yapay ihtiyaçlar ve çeşitli beşeri müdahalelerle tesis edilen şehrin insan tabiatına etkisi üzerinde durulur. Yazar, eserin akışına doğrudan müdahale etmemekle beraber insanı detaylara kafa yorarak düşünmesini sağlamaya çalışır.
