Abstract

It is a realitythatthefirmsproducinggoods or services frequentlybenefited process improvementand similartechniques toachieve their objectives In today'scompetitive environment.Beingprocess-orientedmeans to give weight to the creation of quality but not to the control of quality. In this sense, process improvement is seen as an approach of Total Quality Management targeted. Hospital informationsystems are computer systems that collect andarchive all orthe majority of the hospitaldatafor use inthe assessment.It isa major problem that storage of visualdatawithout lossanddamage and also the being availableof these data as soon as possiblein this system.System that calledPACShas been developedto overcome this problem.PACS is an archiving system that archive the visual dataobtained fromimaging systems in different unitsin a spaceand, allows the transfer of these data to usersat different points when needed.In this study,efficiency of PACS asa process improvementtechniquewas examined by the application ofahospital.It is concluded that the system providea positive contributionto customers and hospitalas an example ofan importantprocess improvement at the evaluationof the results and implementation of the system.

Özet

Günümüz rekabet şartlarında mal ya da hizmet üreten işletmelerin amaçlarına erişmeleri için süreç iyileştirme ve benzeri tekniklerden sıkça faydalandığı bir gerçektir. Süreç odaklı olmak ise kalitenin kontrolüne değil kalitenin yaratılmasına önem vermek anlamına gelir. Bu anlamı ile süreç iyileştirme Toplam Kalite Yönetiminin hedeflediği bir yaklaşım olarak görülmektedir.Hastane bilgi sistemleri, hastane verilerinin tamamının veya çoğunluğunun değerlendirmelerde kullanmak üzere toplandığı ve arşivlendiği bilgisayar sistemleridir. Bu sistem içerisinde özellikle görsel verilerin hasara ve kayba uğramadan depolanması ve kısa sürede ulaşılabilir olması önemli bir sorun olmaktadır. Bu sorunu aşmak için PACS adı verilen sistem geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada farklı birimlerdeki görüntüleme sistemlerinin elde ettiği görsel verilerin bir mekânda arşivlenmesine ve gerektiğinde farklı noktalardaki kullanıcılara aktarılmasına olanak sağlayan bir arşivleme sistemi olan PACS'ın bir süreç iyileştirme tekniği olarak bir hastane uygulaması ile etkinliği irdelenmiştir.Bu sistemin uygulanması ve sonuçları ile ilgili değerlendirmede önemli bir süreç iyileştirme örneği olarak hastane ve müşterilere olumlu katkılar sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
