Review of cesarean sections and cesarean section with histerectomies performed during the last 10 years in Haseki Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit

Abstract
In this study cesarean sections and cesarean sections with histerectomies performed between 1988 and 1997 in Haseki Hospital obstetrics and Gynecology clinic were investigated. During this 10 years time period 26849 deliveries, 4692 of which were cesarean sections and 25 were cesarean sections with histerectomies were undertaken. AI though most of the cases had no prenatal follow-up and they had medical and obstetrical complications, the number of cases with significant morbidity rate was found to be appriately low.

Bu araştırmada Haseki Hastanesi Kadın hastalıkları ve doğum kliniğinde 1988 -1997 yılları arasındaki 10 yıllık dönemde sezaryen ve sezaryen histerektomi operasyonlarına tabi tutulan olgular incelenmiştir. Bu 10 yıl içinde kliniğimizde 26849 doğum olmuş bunlardan 4692' si sezaryen ve 25 i sezaryen histerektomi operasyonuna tabi tutulmuştur. Hastaların çoğunda birçok medikal ve obstetrik komplikasyon olmasına ve prenatal takip eksikliği bulunmasına rağmen ciddi komplikasyonların oranı oldukça düşük bulunmuştur.
