Mucosal eosinophilic gastroenteritis: A case report

Abstract

Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis is a rare syndrome characterized by the infiltration of gastrointestinal tract's one or more layers by eosinophilic leukocytes. 41 years old male patient, who had the early diagnosis ofgastritis and could not get a resul tfrom symptomatic therapy,was interned to our clinic with growing abdominal pain and diarrhea. The diagnosis of Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis was made by finding eosinophilic infiltration in the duodenal biopsy taken by the endoscopy,eosinophilia in peripheral blood and gastrointestinal symptoms.

Özet

Eozinofilik gastroenterit (EGE) gastrointestinal yolun bir veya birkaç tabakasının eozinofilik lökositlerce infiltrasyonu ile karekterize nadir bir sendromdur.Gastrit ön tanısı konulan ve semptomatik tedaviden yanıt alınamayan 41 yaşında erkek hasta artan karın ağrısı ve ishal şikayeti ile kliniğimize yatırıldı.Yapılan endoskopi ile alınan duodenal biopside eozinofilik infiltratın saptanması, periferik kanda eozinofilinin varlığı ayrıca gastrointestinal semptomlarının oluşu nedeniyle eozinofilik gastroenterit tanısı konuldu.Nadir görülen bu hastalık literatür bilgileri ışığında gözden geçirildi.
