Abstract

Aim: Our aim was to determine the demographic characteristics of patients, who underwent gastrointestinal endoscopy in a secondary level state hospital and to compare the results with the literature. Methods: We investigated and classified gastroduodenoscopy results, age, sex, complaints, clinical characteristics and type of anesthesia of 499 patients who were admitted to Sakarya Akyazi State Hospital Endoscopy unit between 2011 and 2012. Results: Most of the results of 499 patients included in this study were found to be compatible with the literature. Conclusion: It is obvious that gastroduodenoscopy will remain useful for many years in the diagnosis of lesions of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Özet

Amaç: İkinci basamak bir devlet hastanesinde endoskopi ünitesinde gastroduodenoskopi yapılan hastaların demografik özellikleri ve gastroduodenoskopi sonuçlarının saptanması ve literatür ile karşılaştırılması. Yöntemler: 2011-2012 yıllarında Sakarya Akyazı Devlet Hastanesi Endoskopi Ünitesine başvuran 499 hastaya yapılan gastroduodenoskopinin sonuçları, hastaların yaşı, cinsiyeti, şikayeti ve hastaya uygulanan anestezi şekli incelenerek sınıflandırılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya dahil edilen 499 hastanın sonuçlarının çoğunun literatür ile uyumlu olduğu bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Üst gastrointestinal sistemdeki lezyonların tanısında gastroduodenoskopinin daha uzun yıllar boyunca yararlı bir tetkik olarak kullanılacağı aşikardır.
