Medicinal Plants Sold in Herbalists in Ordu District

Abstract

This study was conducted to collect information about the usage of medicinal plants in the Ordu province. It was aimed to determine the general situation of the herbalist in the Ordu province, which plants were used in the region and the factors affecting the consumers' preferences. A questionnaire was applied by interviewing seven herbalists in Ordu province. In the study, a questionnaire was consisting of questions such as education status of herbalists, whether they had received training on medical plants, which drogs are the most preferred in the region, where to buy the drogs, what consumers have influenced plant preferences, which plants are preferred for the seasons, and whether they sell special plants for the region. According to the study results, It has been determined that the herbalists are not educated in an agricultural university, but they have received courses related to medicinal plants, with the exception of ones. It has been revealed that people have bought drogs in the winter months against flue.

Tıbbi bitkilerin Ordu ilinde kullanımıyla ilgili bilgi toplamak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiş bu çalışmada; Ordu ilindeki aktarların genel durumu, bölgede hangi bitkilerin kullanıldığı, tüketicilerin tercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Ordu merkezde faaliyet gösteren 7 aktar ile görüşülerek anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada aktarların eğitim durumu, tıbbi bitkiler konusunda eğitim alıp almadıkları, bölgede hangi drogların daha çok tercih edildiği, drogları nereden temin ettikleri, tüketicilerin bitki tercihlerini nelerin etkilediği, mevsimlere göre hangi bitkilerin tercih edildiği, bölgeye özel bitkileri satıp satmadıkları şeklinde sorulardan oluşan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre; Ordu’da faaliyet gösteren aktarların ziraat kökenli bir üniversite eğitimi almadığı, bir aktar hariç diğer aktarların tıbbi bitkiler ile ilgili kurs aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Drog satışlarında mevsimin etkili olduğu saptanmıştır. İnsanların özellikle kış aylarında soğuk algınlığına karşı drog satın aldığı ortaya çıkmıştır
