Fen Eğitimi Alanındaki Araştırmaların Konu ve Yöntem Açısından İncelenmesi

Examination of Research Studies in the Field of Science Education in Terms of Subject and Method

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, 2013-2017 yılları arasında fen eğitimi alanında yapılmış olan araştırmaları betimsel içerik analiziyle incelemek ve fen eğitimcileri ile bu alanda araştırma yapacak olanlara önerilerde bulunmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 2013-2017 yılları arasında fen eğitimi alanında yapılmış olan 125 araştırma; yöntem, değişken, konu alanı, çalışılan grup/düzey, veri toplama araçları, veri analizi teknikleri, örnekleme teknikleri, program ögeleri, öğretme-öğrenme yaklaşımları, strateji ve teknikleri, araç-gereç ve materyaller temaları bakımından incelenmiştir. İnceleme sonucunda söz konusu temalar, Araştırma Konusuna İlişkin Bulgular ve Araştırma Yöntemine İlişkin Bulgular başlıkları altında tasnif edilmiştir. Araştırmanın neticesinde, fen eğitimi alanında ağırlıklı olarak akademik başarı, ilgi, tutum, öz-yeterlik değişkenleri üzerinde çalışıldığı, öğretme-öğrenme yaklaşımları strateji ve teknikleri temasında sorgulamaya dayalı öğrenmenin, araç-gereç ve materyaller temasında ise dokümanların yoğun olarak incelendiği saptanmıştır. Araştırma yöntemine ilişkin bulgularda yöntem teması bakımından betimsel ve nicel yöntemin tercih edildiği, veri analiz teknikleri temasında betimsel analiz ve t testinden yararlanıldığı, örnekleme teknikleri temasına ise çalışmalarda yer verilmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarıyla uyumlu olarak fen eğitimcileri ve ilgili araştırmacılara öneriler sunulmuştur.

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to examine the research studies related to science education conducted between the years of 2013-2017 via descriptive content analysis and to offer suggestions for future studies as well as science educators and researchers who wish to conduct studies in this field. For this purpose, 125 studies on science education between the years of 2013-2017 were analyzed based on the themes of method, variable, subject area, studied group / level, data collection tools, data analysis techniques, sampling techniques, program items, teaching-learning approach, strategy and techniques, tools / materials. As a result of the review, these themes were classified under the headings of Findings on the Research Topic and Findings on the Research Method. Results indicated that mainly academic success, interest, attitude, self-efficacy variables are studied in the field of science education. Inquiry-based learning for the theme of teaching-learning approaches, strategies and techniques, and documents for the theme of materials and materials are examined extensively. Descriptive and quantitative methods are preferred in terms of method theme; descriptive analysis and t test are generally used in the theme of data analysis techniques. It was concluded that the theme of sampling techniques was not included in the studies. Suggestions were presented to science educators and researchers in accordance with the results of the current study.
