The Determination of Turfgrass Qualities and Covering Rations in Some Cool Grasses

Abstract
This research was conducted to evaluate turfgrass quality, and coverage rates depend on the seasonsin some cool grasses. In the trial, 15 varieties belong to 5 cool season species widely used in landscape areas andsports ground were used. The experiment of the completely randomised design was applied with three replicationsin 2007-2008. The highest turfgrass quality was obtained from L. perenne Delawery, Ovation varieties and F. rubratrichophylla Suzette in both seasons and years. However, the degree of ground cover of L. perenne Delawery,Ovation varieties and F. rubra trichophylla Dawson variety had the highest according to results of the experiment.In contrary to this,the lowest turfgrass quality was observed from L. perenne Linn and the lowest of ground coverwas observed from P. pratensis Balin variety
Özet
Bu araştırma, bazı serin iklim çim çeşitlerinin mevsimlere göre çim kalitesi ve kaplama derecelerinibelirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Denemede peyzaj alanları ve spor saha zeminlerinde yaygın olarak kullanılanbitkilerden 5 türe ait 15 çim çeşidi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma tesadüf parselleri deneme desenine göre üç tekerrürlüolarak 2007-2008 yıllarında yürütüldü. Her iki yılda ve mevsimlerde, çim kalitesi bakımından Festuca rubraDelawery ve Ovation çeşitleri ile Festuca rubra trichophylla Suzette çeşitleri yüksek performanslı bulundu.Kaplama derecesi bakımından ise L. perenne Delawery ve Ovation çeşitleri ile F. rubra trichophylla Dawson çeşidien yüksek yayılma değerlerine ulaştı. Her iki yılda çim kalitesi bakımından L. perenne Linn, kaplama derecesibakımından P. pratensis Balin çeşitleri en düşük seviyede kalmıştır .
