INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF THE TIME AND THE CURE ON THE STRENGTH OF TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE

İKİ FARKLI PORTLAND ÇİMENTOLU BETONLARIN DAYANIMINA ZAMAN VE KÜR ETKİSİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

The two cement factories nearby Kayseri and most others in Turkey produce the pozzolan-blended portland cement known as “Portland Composed Cement” PKÇ/B-32.5R in compliance with the Turkish Standard: TS-12143 mainly because this standard allows for all the possible natural and industrial pozzolans to be blended with the portland cement clinker such as trass, ground shist, blast furnace slag, fly ash, and silica fume. Clincer ground finely in the cement factories nearby Kayseri yields the strength-based upper class cement known as PÇ-42.5. Hence, these factories commercially deal only two types of cements, namely: PKÇ/B-32.5R and PÇ-42.5, and unblended PÇ-32.5 type is not available. In this study, various concrete batches using PÇ-42.5 and PKÇ/B-32.5R, separately, each with the same cement dosage and the same mix recipe are produced, and their 2-day, 7-day, 28-day, 180-day, and 360- day strengths are compared.

Özet

Puzolan olarak, tras, öğütülmüş şist gibi doğal puzolanların yanı sıra, yüksek fırın cürufu, uçucu kül, silika füme gibi endüstriyel puzolanların hepsini kabul etmesinden dolayı, Kayseri civarındaki iki çimento fabrikasında ve ülkenin diğer birçok çimento fabrikasında TS-12143’te tanımlanan “Portland Kompoze Çimento” nun PKÇ/B-32.5R türü üretilmektedir. Öğütülmüş klinker puzolan katkısız halde iken dayanım bazına göre bir üst sınıf olan PÇ-42.5 oluşturmaktadır. Dolayısıyla, Kayseri yöresi çimento fabrikalarında PÇ-42.5 ve PKÇ/B-32.5R türü çimentolar piyasaya sunulmakta, PÇ-32.5 bulunmamaktadır. Bu deneysel çalışmada, PÇ-42.5 ve PKÇ/B-32.5R ile aynı çimento dozajı ve reçete ile üretilen betonların, 2-günlük, 7-günlük, 28-günlük, 180-günlük ve 360-günlük dayanımları karşılaştırılmıştır.
