Abstract

The purpose of this study is io examine the characteristics of the phenomena of attempted and completed suicide. Which is aprevalent and world wide socfel problem. The rate of attempted and completed suicide in the years studied is reportedd in retation to marttal educational and occupational status, age, sex andplace ofbirth of the subjects, seasons of the act and the methods employed The dala has been recruitedfrom the paMent and legal casefiles kept during 1970-1990 period The results are compared the similar rates reported in studiesfrom Turkey and several other countries around the uıorld.

Özet

Bu çalışmada tüm dünyada yaygın sosyal bir problem olarak görülmekte ve üzerinde çok sayıda araştırma yürütülmekte olan intihar grtşimi ve intihar sonucu ölümlerin K.K.T.C indeki özelliklerinin araştvrûması amaçlanmışta: İntihar girişimi ve intihar sonucu ölümlerin sayı, yulara göre dağdım, intihar girişimi olan bireylerin medeni durumu, eğitimi, yaşı, cinsiyeti doğum yeri, mevsimler ve mesleklerle ÜişkM ve intiharda kullanılan yöntemler dikkate alınmıştır. Bilgiler K.K.T.C 'inde 1970-1990 yılları arasında tutulan tüm hastane ve adli kayıtlar taranılarak elde edûmişttr. Sonuçlar Türkiye'deki benzer oranlar ve dünyanın çeşitli ülkelerindeki oranlarla kıyaslanmıştv.
