AbstractIn this study, Vie relation between the microorganisms remained on the toothbrushes at different drying time in air, various levels of rinsing with water decayed tooth number oj 72 children divided into three groups of 24 persons brushing their teeth with middle hard, short head, child type toothbrushes without dentifrice was investigated.Total colony count is continued % 70 when drying time in air was 6 hours and also % 40 when drying time in was 24 hours. Mutans streptococci count is continued % 16 at the end of 6 hours and %1 at the end of 24 hours. Toothbrushes, that were rinsed very well and dried 24 hours shows decreased fungi, lactobadlle and mutans streptococci counts but total colony count was approximately at the same number. At the end of die 24 hours drying time, there were also a few microorganisms on die toothbrushes, decayed tooth number (0,l-5,6>) is indistinguishable.Key words: Toothbrush, microorganism, dental caries.
