From Institution to Community-Based Care: The Role of Social Workers Working in Community Mental Health Centers

KURUM BAKIMINDAN TOPLUM TEMELLİ BAKIMA GEÇİŞ: TOPLUM RUH SAĞLIĞI MERKEZLERİNDE ÇALIŞAN SOSYAL HİZMET UZMANLARININ ROLÜ

Abstract

In this study developments, aims of community based mental health services and roles of social workers working in community mental health centers are presented by assessing mental health developments from the World and Turkey. The process of moving from instutional care approach to community based care approach are referred with the examples from different countries. Then instutional care and community based care are compared. The roles of social workers working in this field as a multi-disciplinary team member are presented.

Özet

Bu çalışmada Türkiye’deki ve dünyadaki ruh sağlığı alanındaki gelişmelere ve bu bağlamda Toplum Temelli Ruh Sağlığı Hizmetlerinin Gelişimine, amaçlarına ve toplum ruh sağlığı merkezlerinde çalışan sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının rollerine yer verilmiştir. Belirtilen gelişmelere bağlı olarak kurum bakımından toplum temelli bakıma geçiş süreci ülke örnekleriyle anlatılmıştır. Son olarak ise kurum bakımı ve toplum temelli bakım arasında bir karşılaştırma yapılarak bu alanda çalışan ve multidisipliner ekip içerisinde yer alan sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının önemine yer verilmiştir.
