Abstract
People are becoming consumers as soon as they are born. While adults can decide on their own in consumer preferences, parents decide on meeting the needs in child consumers for their children. Although children are not enough to meet their needs on their own, they can direct their families to meet their needs. In the past, when parents decide what the needs of children are, and children can be satisfied with what their parents took for them, today, children guide their families to their needs and desires, and can sometimes pressure them at this point. One of the most important reasons for diversification in these demands and needs is that businesses, institutions and brands realize the emotional sanction power of the children's target group that grows up in popular culture. Many companies and brands that consider children as consumers and produce products and services for children use many methods to attract attention of children. These are ads with remarkable visuals, fun music and children's use. Children's needs and expectations are taught through advertisements which are one of the important tools of popular culture. In this study, it was aimed to analyze the discourse used for children target groups in the advertisements of Koton Kids products by considering the mental and physical development of similar age groups. In this context, the discourse of children's actors in advertising was examined using Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis and the discourses used in these advertisements are evaluated in the context of social contradictions that may ocur over time in children who grow up within the traditional family structure. As a result of there search, when the social learning and imitation processes are evaluated during the learning process of the children, it is possible to reach the result that the advertisements of the Koton can constitute negative examples for the children.
Özet
İnsanlar doğdukları an itibariyle birer tüketici olmaktadır.
