First Case Report of Dioctophyme renale (Goeze, 1782) in a Dog in ‹stanbul, Turkey

Abstract
A female specimen of Dioctophyma renale was recovered from the abdominal cavity of a stray dog necropsied in Istanbul, Turkey on 8 June, 1999. The nematode was 55.5 cm in lenght, with a diameter of 0.7 (0.6-0.8) cm. This is the first case report of D. renale from Turkey.
Özet
Bu çal›flmada Türkiye’de ilk kez rastlanan bir Dioctophyma renale olgusu rapor edilmektedir. Parazite, Patoloji Anabilim Dal›’nda 8 Haziran 1999’da nekropsisi yap›lan bir sokak köpe¤inin kar›n bofllu¤unda serbest olarak rastlanm›flt›r. Sa¤ böbre¤e yak›n olarak bulunan parazitin difli, 55.5 cm uzunlu¤unda ve 0.7 (0.6-0.8) cm çap›nda oldu¤u saptanm›flt›r.
