Endoscopic and biopsy results of upper gastrointestinal system in hyperemesis gravidarum cases

Abstract

We have investigated endoscopic and biopsy results of upper gastrointestinal system in 23 hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) cases (18-36 age, mean age 25±4). Endoscopic results were normal in 13 cases (56.5%), gastritis was observed in 7 cases (30.5%), 1. case had linear esophagitis (4.3%), and 2 cases had bulbitis (8.7%). Biopsy results were usually in concordance with endoscopic results. Only 2 cases had normal endocopy, but biopsy results were intestinal metaplasia. We suggest that there were no significant increase in endoscopic and biopsy lesions that will cause HG.

Özet

Hiperemezis Gravidarurrilu (HG) 23 olgunun (18-36 yaş, ortalama yaş 25+4) üst gastrointestinal sistem endoskopi ve biyopsi sonuçlarını araştırdık. Endoskopi bulgusu 13 olguda normal (%56.5), 7 olguda gastrit (% 30.5) 1 olguda lineer özofajit (% 4.3) ve 2 olguda bulbit (%8.7) idi. Biyopsi sonuçları i|e endoskopi bulguları genellikle uyum içerisindeydi. Sadece endoskopi bulgusu normal olan 2 olgunun biyopsi sonuçları intestinal metaplazi idi. HG'a yol açabilecek derecede anlamlı endoskopi ve biyopsi lezyonu olmadığını düşünmekteyiz.
