Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To define the relation between leiomyoma uteri and Gone mineral density in postmenopausal patients STUDY DESIGN: We examined the bone mineral density values of 160 postmenopausal patients with leiomyoma uteri and 160 postmenopausal patients with normal uterus. RESULTS: The mean bone mineral density values of cases with leiomyoma uteri and with normal uterus were 0.8909±0.131 gr/cm2 and 0.8798±0.127 gr/cm2 ceğpectively. Z scores (Standardized BMD values to age) of two groups were %92.5±13.8 and %90.6±13.1 respectively. They were not different significantly. (p>0.05) CONCLUSION: The level of osteoporosis in postmenopausal patient with leiomyoma uteri was similar to the level of postmenopausal cases with normal uterus.
