Abstract
Examination of the 65 years old woman who came with bilateral inguinal pain, fever and vaginal flow showed a strange intra-vaginal, ring-shaped, incarcerated object. Her history revealed that she prepared a hand-made pessary by twisting a branch of a pomegranate tree and wrapping it with thread covered by wax. She had been treating her uterine prolapse with this tool for the last 10 years. After three days of parenteral antibiotics and vaginal estrogen cream, the pessary could be removed under general anesthesia.
