Abstract

Monoamniotic twins occur in approximately 1% of monozygotic twin pregnancies. Monoamniotic twins are at increased risk of preterm delivery and fetal death, primarily due to cord accidents and cord entanglement. A perinatal mortality of 30%-70% has been reported in the literature. However, the majority of series include cases diagnosed postnatally. Differences of opinion expressed in the literature include the risk of fetal death after 30-32 weeks and the need to perform early delivery. In that case we presented a primipara 31 gestational weeks patient with preterm PROM and twin pregnancy; and discussed monoamniotic twin pregnancy with current literatures.

Özet

Monoamniotik ikizlik monozigotik ikiz gebeliklerin %1'inde olur. Monoamniotik ikizler kord kazaları ve kord dolaşması gibi sebeplerden dolayı artmış preterm doğum riskine sahiptir. Literatürde perinatal mortalitenin %30-50 arasında rapor edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte birçok vakanın tanısı doğumdan sonra konulur. Literaturde düşünce farklılıkları 30-32 haftadan sonra fetal ölüm riskinin fazla olusunu kapsar ve erken doğumun yaptırılmasını önerir.
