Ectopic pituitary adenoma in the sphenoid sinus and parasellar region report of two cases

Abstract
Pituitary adenomas arising far from the pituitary gland occur rarely as a result of defects in embryological migration. Likewise, there have been reports of isolated suprasellar adenomas, presumably derived from cells of the pars tuberalis. In this report, we present two cases of ectopic pituitary adenomas. Neurological examinations, neurodiagnostic imaging, surgical observation, endocrinological evaluation and histological examination demonstrated evidence of ectopic adenoma in sphenoid sinus and parasellar region.
Özet
Hipofiz glandından uzakta gelişen hipofiz adenomları nadirdir ve embriyolojik migrasyondaki defektlerin bir sonucudur. Bundan başka, pars tuberalisdeki hücrelerden köken atan izole suprasellar adenomalar rapor edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada biz iki adet ektopik hipofiz adenomu olgusunu tanıttık. Nörolojik muayene, nöroradyolojik tanı yöntemleri, cerrahi gözlem, endokrinolojik evalüasyon ve histolojik inceleme sfenoid sinüs ve parasallar bölgedeki ektopik adenomayı göstermiştir.
