Abstract
Fibrous dysplasia is a developmental anomaly of bone, often affecting the facial bones. Between 1990 and 1998 eight patients with fibrous dysplasia were hospitalized at GATA Neurosurgery department in the study group mean age was 22. Seven patients had cranial swelling and three proptosis and one visual disorder. The surgery performed in six patients. The orbital wall and cranium defects in patients were reconstructed by using porous polyethylene and acrylic cranioplasty. Good cosmetic and functional results were obtained in all cases we pointed out the problems of differential diagnosis and the treatment strategy an reviewed with the literature.
Özet
Fibröz displazi sıklıkla fasial kemiklerin etkilendiği kemiğin gelişimsel bir anomalisidir. 1990 ile 1998 yılları arasında 8 fibröz displazili hasta GATA Nöroşirurji kliniğine yatırıldı. Bu çalışma grubunda ortalama yaş 22 idi. Yedi hastada kraniumda şişlik, üçünde proptozis ve birinde görme bozukluğu mevcuttu. Altı hasta opere edildi. Orbita duvarı ve kranium defektleri poröz polietilen ve akrilik kranioplasti ile tamir edildi. Bütün olgularda iyi kozmetik ve fonksiyonel sonuçlar sağlandı. Ayırıcı teşhisteki problemler ve tedavi stratejileri literatür eşliğinde tartışıldı.
