Abstract

Infants with extreme short bowel syndrome still continue to be a challenge to the paediatricians and paediatric surgeons. Advances in providing nutrition through parenteral and enteral routes have changed the worse prognosis. We report a case in which intestinal lengthening procedure was used to deal with functional intestinal obstruction due to jejunal atresia, complicating congenital short bowel syndrome.

Özet

Kısa barsak sendromlu bebekler günümüzde halen pediatristlerin ve pediatrik cerrahların önemli sorunlarından biri olmaya devam etmektedir. Besinsel gereksinimin enteral ve parenteral yollarla uygulanmasındaki gelişmeler sayesinde bu hastaların prognozunda iyileşme görülmeye başlamıştır. Bu yazıda jejunal atrezi nedeniyle fonksiyonel intestinal obstrüksiyon bulgusu gösteren ve intestinal uzatma tekniği uygulanan bir konjenital kısa barsak sendromu olgusu sunulmuştur.
