Determining the nursing activities in Gülhane Military Medical Academy Hospital outpatient clinics

Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the nursing activites in Gülhane Military Medical Academy Hospital Outpatient Clinics in order to improve the professional nursing services and to contribute the studies related to use nursing personnel in the most beneficial manner. It was planned as descriptive and crossectional. In literature, the activities which were especially defined as "Professional Nursing" and "Nonnursing activities" (Nonprofessional activities) were determined by the "Outpatient Nursing Activities Observation Form" prepared according to the opinions of experts. Descriptive statistics were used in analyzing the data. According to the results, the ratio of the professional nursing activities was 40.97 % while the ratio of the nonprofessional ones was 59.03 %. It has been found that the highest ratios among the professional activities were " Using effective relationship skills" (54.64%), " Providing coordination between doctor and patient" (25.03%), "Assisting with diagnostic / therapeutic procedures" (8.84%). As for nonprofessional ones among the highest ratios were " Providing an orderly environment " (41.49%o), "Doing secreterial works" (31.85%), "Advising the patient on place and direction" (10.41%).
Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi Hastanesi polikliniklerinde, profesyonel hemşirelik hizmetlerini geliştirmeye yönelik olarak, hemşirelik faaliyetlerini tespit etmek ve hemşire insan gücünün en verimli şekilde kullanılmasıyla ilgili çalış¬malara katkıda bulunmaktır. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte bir araştırma olarak planlanmıştır. Literatürde bizzat "Profesyonel Hemşirelik" başlığı altında belirtilen faaliyetler ve hemşirelik mesleğiyle ilgili olmayan faaliyetler(Profesyonel olmayan özellik¬teki faaliyetler), uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda hazır¬lanan "Poliklinik Hemşirelik Faaliyetleri Gözlem Formu" kullanılarak gözlem yöntemiyle tespit edilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde betimleyici istatistikler kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, poliklinik/erdeki profesyonel hemşire¬lik faaliyetlerinin oranının % 40.97, profesyonel olmayanların ise % 59.03 olduğu saptanmıştır. Profesyonel faaliyetler içinde en yüksek oranda görülenlerin " Etkin iletişim becerilerinin kullanıl-ması"(%54.64), "Doktor ve hasta arasında koordinasyonun sağlanması"(%25.03), "Tanı/Tedavi işlem¬lerine yardım edilmesr(%8.84) faaliyetleri olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Profesyonel olmayan faaliyetler içinde ise en yüksek oranda görülenler " Düzenli bir ortamın sağlanmasr(%41.49), "Sekreterlik işleri yapılması"(%31.85)", Yer/ Yön bildirir tarzda danış¬manlık yapılması"(%10.41) faaliyetleri olmuştur.
