Orbital myositis with 3 cases

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical and radiologic signs, and the treatment of orbital myositis, which is considered as a subtype of orbital pseudotumor. The clinical and radiologic signs and the treatment results of 3 male patients 1 of 53 years and 2 of 21 years old with clinical orbital myositis, were reported. Recurrence was observed in all cases; one with 2, one with 3 and the other with multiple recurrences respectively. The recurrence occurred at the other eye in one case. All patients responded to oral corticosteroids. Although the response to oral corticosteroid therapy is usual in case with orbital myositis, the possibility of recurrence should be not ignored.

Özet

Çalışmamızın amacı orbital psödotümör sendromunun bir alt grubu olarak kabul edilen orbital miyozit olgularındaki klinik, radyolojik bulgular ve tedavi sonuçlarını irdelemektir. Klinik bulgular ile orbital miyozit ön tanısı konan ikisi 21, biri 53 yaşındaki 3 erkek olgunun klinik ve radyolojik bulguları ile tedavi sonuçları olgu sunumu şeklinde incelenmiştir Bir olguda 2 kez, 1 olguda 3 kez, diğerinde de çok sayıda olmak üzere olguların tamamında nüks ile karşılaşılmıştır. Olguların birisinde nüks diğer gözde görülmüştür. Oral steroid tedavisi ile tüm olgularda klinik bulgularda hızlı düzelme gözlenmiştir. Orbital miyozit olgularında oral kortikosteroid tedavisi ile iyi cevap alınsa da nüksün sıklığı göz önünde tutulmalıdır.
