Mitral balloon valvuloplasty in a pregnant woman

Abstract
The women with mitral stenosis who are at risk for developing heart failure can not tolerate pregnancy. Recently, it was reported that balloon mitral valvuloplasty can be performed safely in the pregnant women with heart failure. In this report, we present a pregnant case of mitral stenosis with symptoms of left heart failure at the 30th week and treated successfully by mitral balloon valvuloplasty; consequently, the patient had no complication and delivered a healthy baby.

Mitral darlığı bulunan kadınlar bazen gebeliği tolere edememekte ve ciddi kalp yetmezliği tablosu sergileyebilmektedirler. Son zamanlarda kalp yetmezliği gelişen gebe kadınlarda balon mitral valvüloplastinin güvenle uygulanabileceği bildirilmiştir. Bu yazıda gebeliğinin 30. haftasında akut sol kalp yetmezliği ile başvuran ve balon mitral valvüloplasti ile başarıyla tedavi edilip miadında sağlıklı bir erkek bebek dünyaya getiren bir mitral darlığı olgusu sunulmaktadır.
