Home health services on a quadriplegic case

Abstract

Home health service is to give examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services to the bedridden patients in home envi- ronment by a professional health care team. In recent years, home health services that practiced for many years in western countries have shown a rapid development in Turkey, too. Cerebrovascular events or neurological traumas are one of the most important and the most common cause of to be bedridden in adults. Thus, hemiplegic or quadriplegic patients create of a large portion of home he- alth services. However, home health services that will be given to these patients are inadequate in the existing literature. In this article, a patient who admitted to home health services after three years the development of quadriplegia will be discussed with treatment and follow-up for one year process by the literature

Özet

Evde sağlık hizmetleri yatağa bağımlı hastalara ev ortamında muayene, tetkik, tedavi ve rehabilitasyon hizmetlerinin profesyonel bir sağlık ekibi tarafından verilmesidir. Batı toplumlarında uzun yıllardır uygulanan evde sağlık hizmetleri, son yıllarda Türkiye'de de hızlı bir gelişim göstermiştir. Serebrovasküler olaylar ya da travma sonrası gelişen nörolojik defisitler yetişkinlerde yatağa bağımlılığın en önemli ve en sık nedenlerinden birisidir. Dolayısıyla evde sağlık hizmetleri kapsamına giren hastaların büyük bir kısmını hemip- lejik ya da kuadriplejik hastalar oluşturur. Fakat bu hastalara verilecek evde sağlık hizmetleri ile ilgili mevcut literatür yetersizdir. Bu yazıda kuadripleji gelişiminden üç yıl sonra evde sağlık hizmetleri alan bir olgunun bir yıllık tedavi ve takip süreci literatür eşliğinde tartışılacaktır
