Value of glutathion level investigation in cancer tissue

Abstract

New cancer therapeutic modalities, including molecular basis, have been developed in the recent years. This study was performed on tumoral and nontumoral specimens of 54 head and neck cancer patients, between May 1994 and October 1994. The authors discussed the effect of glutathione in tumor's ethiopathogenesis, follow-up and prognosis. For that ac¬cording to tumor's localisation, stage, histopathology and differantiation, their glutathione levels were investigated and their relations were discussed.

Özet

Son yıllarda kanserle mücadelede, makroskopik olarak (yeni operasyon teknikleri) gelişmeler olduğu gibi moieküler düzey¬de de ümit verici gelişmeler olmaktadır. Bu çalışma Mayıs 1994 ile Ekim 1994 döneminde başvuran, rastgele seçilmiş 54 baş-boyun tümörlü olgunun operasyon materyellerinden elde edilen tümöral ve non tümöral doku örnekleri üzerinde yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada glutatyonun kanserin etyopatogenezinde, markır olarak tanısında ve postoperatuvar takibindeki yeri tartışılmıştır. Bu amaçla olgularda kanserin yerleşim yerine, evresine, histopatolojisine ve histopatolojik diferansiyas-yonuna göre glutatyon düzeyleri araştırılmış ve sonuçları tartışılmıştır.
