Abstract
Objective: Brucellosis is a common infectious disease in the mid-Anatolia regions of Turkey. In this study, brucellosis seroprevalence was investigated in the regions of Afyonkarahisar where production of milk and milk products is intense. Method: A total of 377 subjects chosen by a simple random-sampling method were accepted to the study. Blood samples were evaluated by the Rose-Bengal (RB) and the Wright agglutination (WAT) tests. Results: RB test was positivite in 18 (11.1%) subjects. WAT was also positive in 2 (4.8%) of these 18 subjects. Conclusion: Brucellosis seropositivity rate in the region of Afyonkarahisar where production of milk and milk products are intense were found to be low.
