Karşıyaka'daki okullarda Pediculus humanus capitis yaygınlığının araştırılması

Abstract
Total of 2906 pupil, 1405 males and 1501 females, of first classes of the primary schools in Karşıyaka town in the city of Izmir, were examined for the presence of Pediculus humanus capitis between October, 1999 and March, 2000. Totally in 44 pupil (1.51%), 6 males (0.4%) and 38 (2.5%) females, Pediculus humanus capitis, in the form of either mature or oocyst, was found. The effects of the hygienic conditions of the schools, number of the students in one class, and the role of gender were investigated for the spread of parasite. For the treatment of the students with pediculosis capitis, permethrin hair cream (Zalvor®-Glaxo Wellcome) was given. According to results of the controls after the treatment, this drug was found effective in 41 of 44 (93.18).
Özet
İzmir'in Karşıyaka ilçesinde, Ekim-1999 Mart-2000 tarihleri arasında, 26 ilköğretim okulunun birinci sınıf öğrencilerinde (1405 erkek, 1501 kız), toplam 2906'sında Pediculus humanus capitis araştırılmıştır. Erkeklerin 6'sında (%0,4), kızların 38'inde (%2,5) ve muayene edilen toplam 44'ünde (%1.51) bit yumurta ve erişkinleri saptanmıştır. Okulların sağlık koşullarının, sınıflardaki öğrenci sayısının ve cinsiyetin parazitin yayılmasına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Pedikülozis kapitis saptanan olgulara sağaltım amacıyla permethrin saç kremi (Zalvor®-Glaxo Wellcome) uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre bu ilacın %93.18 (41/44) olarak bulunmuştur.
