A Wide Mesh Erosion And Deep Pelvic Abscess After Abdominal Sacrocolpopexy: Case Report

Abstract

The usage of synthetic meshes in pelvic reconstructive surgery are incresing in nowadays because the persistancy and possibility of achieving success is higher. The increase in the usage of mesh introduces the risk of mesh erosi— on and enfectious complications. In this case report, we presented patient who underwent abdominal sacrocolpopexy and Burch operations for cuff prolapse and stres incontinance and developed pelvic abscess due to mesh erosion. By using appropriate surgical technique and indications while using mesh, postoperative complications are less likely to be seen.

Özet

Günümüzde pelvik rekonstruktif cerrahide sentetik meşle-- rin kullanımı kalıcı ve daha yüksek başarı oranları nedeniyle artmaktadır. Meş kullanımındaki artış meş erozyonu ve enfeksiyöz komplikasyonlarda artışı getirmektedir. Biz bu olgu sunumunda kaf prolapsusu ve stres inkontinans için abdominal sakrokolpopeksi ve Burch operasyonu yapılan ve postoperatif meş erozyonuna bağlı pelvik apse gelişen bir hastayı sunduk. Meş kullanımındaki uygun cerrahi teknikler ve endikasyonlar ile daha az postoperatif komplikas-- yon oluşacaktır.
