Vıews Of Nursıng Students On Gender Equalıty

Abstract
This study aims to determine the attitudes of nursing students towards societal gender roles, and to create awareness about developing an egalitarian perspective on gender. The research was conducted on 303 nursing students from Hatay College of Health at Mustafa Kemal University, who accepted to participate voluntarily. They were given the data collection forms containing 15 questions to determine sociodemographic characteristics and Gender Equality Scale. To evaluate the data, frequency and percentage calculations, t-test, ANOVA and Tukey HSD Test were utilized. The average age of the participants was 20.91. 69.3% of the participants were female and 27.4% of them were second grade students. The rate of participants staying with their families was 32.7%. The study found that the participants have a positive attitude towards gender equality and traditional or egalitarian gender norms. A statistically significant difference was detected between the variables of age, gender, grade, education status of mother and father, number of siblings and score averages (p<0,05).

Bu çalışma ile uğraş alanı insan olan hemşirelik öğrencilerinin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin tutumlarının belirlenmesi, toplumsal cinsiyete ilişkin eşitlikçi bakış açısı geliştirme farkındalığı yaratması amaçlanmaktadır.Çalışma, Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi Hatay Sağlık Yüksekokulu Hemşirelik bölümüne devam eden ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 303 öğrenci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Veri toplama formunda sosyo demografik özelliklerini belirlemeye yönelik 15 soru ve Cinsiyet Eşitliği Ölçeği yer almaktadır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde frekans ve yüzde hesaplamaları, t- testi, ANOVA ve Tukey HSD Testi kullanılmıştır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 20,91’dir. Katılımcıların % 69,3’ü kadın; % 27,4’ü ikinci sınıf öğrencisidir. Ailesi ile birlikte yaşayan katılımcı oranı % 32,7’dir. Çalışmada katılımcıların genel olarak cinsiyet eşitliğine yönelik yüksek tutuma, ölçeğin alt grupları olan geleneksel cinsiyet normlarının ve eşitlikçi cinsiyet normları yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Çalışmada yaş, cinsiyet, sınıf, anne eğitim durumu, baba eğitim durumu, kardeş sayısı değişkenleri ile puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur.
